Kyoto Food
It is incomprehensible to be asked where the nearest hamburger or fast food restaurant is in Kyoto, but it happens. Some tourists state that Japanese food is bland compared to western cultures’ over sugared, over salted, fat drenched, artificially colored and artificially flavor enhanced foods. STOP AND THINK ABOUT THIS! Kyoto food is nearly always same day fresh. This means that your tongue has to search and savor for the flavor in food rather than using artificial chemicals to bring the flavor out of the food to a lazy tongue. Kyoto food is enhanced by century old seasonings and sauce recipes (e.g. soy), pastes (e.g. miso) and condiments (e.g. wasabi).
